Universal IR remote receiver

George has recently built a universal IR receiver, based on a design in the November 2008 issue of Elector Electronics (with due credit to Jeroen Hoppenbrouwers) that uses a PIC 16F877 (just happened to have several of those).

Veroboarded the circuit, and plan to use this to increase the number of things around the house that can be controlled from one universal remote.
